May 8, 2008

Manuel and David dropped me at Dulles Internatioal. I have been to the same airport hundreds of time. I have never seen such a huge line for security check. When my turn came I was asked to remove my jewels. Joe gave me his necklaces. Well the alarm made noise; I was checked and told that the shorter necklace was the problem. I arrived in Terminal 4 in London; my departure to Chennai is also in Terminal 4. Yet, I had to go through security. Except one jewel I removed every thing before security. Well, the machine made noise however. The young woman who checked me out said that it is not my jewel. She asked if I "have metal plates in my body for broken bones or something". Well, this time I was asked to enter a private room and two ladies came in. They found nothing yet the wand beeped over and over. They were happy they did their job. I assured them that they are doing their jobs and it is not a problem. However, I felt so miserable about our status today at security check point. We did not have to worry about such security a few years ago. We need peace, love, and joy for all people in all countries.
